Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City | BBBSNYC
BBBS of NYC is considered the founding agency of the nation’s youth mentoring movement. Since 1904, our mission has been to give all children in New York City who face adversity an opportunity to experience a strong, enduring professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationship with adults that will help change their lives for the better. We partner with families, volunteers, organizations, and the community to inspire positive change in all.
Currently there are 508,503 children living at or below the poverty level in New York City. 43% of children in New York City are from single-parent families. Every year, BBBS of NYC connects more than 5,000 of these kids with a “Big” who can help them believe that their present situation doesn’t have to be their future.
Breast Cancer Charities of America
The Breast Cancer Charities of America is the new voice of breast cancer. We are passionate, filled with energy and a vision. And we will not stop educating until breast cancer is no longer a life-threatening disease.
Our central focus is on educating, empowering and encouraging all men and women to become pro-active in preventing breast cancer and, if diagnosed, surviving breast cancer.
Today, we are the leader in integrated cancer care…combining body, mind, and spirit to the prevention and treatment of breast cancer. Through our program services, we are able to educate, teach and provide the latest accurate information about integrated cancer care, cancer prevention, recovery, treatment, early detection and survival.
Child Advocates of Silicon Valley
Child Advocates is a member of the National CASA Association, a network of nearly 950 community programs supporting children in the foster care system. Because our volunteers are court-appointed, they can thoroughly research every aspect of a child’s case, including meeting teachers, social workers and foster parents. Advocates provide reports to the court so judges can make decisions with clear and accurate information. In addition to representing children in court, CASAs serve as friends and mentors. Our mission is to provide stability and hope to children who have experienced hope and neglect by being a powerful voice in their lives.
Hunterdon Healthcare Foundation
The Hunterdon Healthcare Foundation, the fundraising organization for the Hunterdon Healthcare System (HHS), seeks gifts and grants from individuals, corporations, foundations and other sources to assist the Hunterdon Medical Center (HMC) and its affiliated non-profit organizations, such as Hunterdon Regional Community Health and Hunterdon Hospice, in fulfilling their mission to meet the community’s need for high quality healthcare.
Hunterdon Healthcare Foundation works with the generous community to invest in their facilities, people and collective future. Over the past five years, an astounding total of more than 26,000 gifts were made from area residents, grateful patients, local business owners, corporations, foundations, physicians and staff to support Hunterdon Healthcare.
Hunterdon Healthcare Foundation relies on continued support to meet the mission year after year. It allows the Foundation to continue providing high quality, compassionate, and cost- effective healthcare services to the community. Annual charitable gifts to Hunterdon Healthcare Foundation provide essential support needed to expand clinical services and programs for our patients, and maintain and enhance the facilities.
Hyacinth AIDS Foundation
Hyacinth’s mission is to help people live with HIV, slow the spread of the epidemic, and serve as a critical voice in the public debate surrounding AIDS in New Jersey.
Hyacinth was incorporated in 1985 in response to New Jersey’s AIDS epidemic. At the dawn of the epidemic, Hyacinth’s initial programs included a hotline, a buddy program, and support groups to help people with AIDS as they prepared to die, their caregivers as they tried to cope, and those left behind with their grief.
As the United States and the world learned and continues to learn more about HIV and AIDS, Hyacinth has led New Jersey’s response to the epidemic. For more than 30 years, Hyacinth has been an integral community partner to the development and implementation of public health policies and services working to ensure that all New Jerseyans have access to anonymous and confidential testing, that those at risk for HIV have access to information and programs to protect themselves from infection, and that those living with HIV/AIDS have access to the best possible medical care and treatment.
Today, Hyacinth provides client services in 6 offices in 6 metropolitan areas of New Jersey, as well as several statewide services. It is Hyacinth’s intent to make the next 30 years the last 30 years of the AIDS epidemic. Please join us in the fight to end the AIDS epidemic.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Coastal Empire - Providing a "Home Away from Home" since 1987
For critically ill or injured children and their families, the Ronald McDonald House Charities© (RMHC©) of the Coastal Empire can be the most important House they will ever visit.
RMHC© of the Coastal Empire is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that provides a restful, comfortable place for children and their families to find refuge and support as they receive medical treatment at our nearby hospitals.
Through our three core programs, the Ronald McDonald House©, the Ronald McDonald House Family Rooms©, and the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile© we focus on helping children heal faster, cope better, and stay healthy.
St. Jude's Ranch for Children
St. Jude’s Ranch for Children helps abused, neglected and at-risk children, young adults and families. We provide customized therapeutic services, we model what a healthy family dynamic looks like and we meet our clients’ physical, social and psychological needs in a caring community. Our ultimate goal is to end the cycle of abuse and neglect.
Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida
Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida is a private, nonprofit organization that collects, stores and distributes donated food to more than 550 feeding partners in six Central Florida counties: Brevard, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Volusia. Last year, with the help of numerous donors, volunteers and a caring, committed community, the food bank distributed nearly 56 million meals to partner programs such as food pantries, soup kitchens, women’s shelters, senior centers, day care centers and Kids Cafes. In addition, Second Harvest’s 14-week culinary program teaches foodservice-based technical, life and employability skills to economically hard-pressed adults. Society of Government Meeting Professionals (SGMP) vision is to create an association dedicated to government meeting planners and to provide them with the training and industry relationships to do a better job. The vision became the first mission of SGMP — to enhance the knowledge and expertise of government meeting professionals by improving the quality and promoting the cost-effectiveness of government meetings by expanding our members' expertise by delivering our membership value of education, resources and networking through 21 chapters.
Voices for Children
Voices for Children (VFC) transforms the lives of abused, abandoned, or neglected children by providing them with trained volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs). VFC believes that every child deserves a safe and permanent home, and to that end, will provide a CASA volunteer to every child who needs one. CASAs work one-on-one with a child or sibling group to ensure their needs are being met—in the courtroom, in the classroom, and in the community. Last year, VFC staff and CASAs advocated on behalf of more than 3,400 foster children across San Diego and Riverside Counties. For 119 years, YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee has helped women, girls and families in Nashville and Middle Tennessee build safer, more self-sufficient lives. YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. We are on a mission to ensure those in need are supported along the continuum of prevention, safety, self-sufficiency, and success.
It is the vision of YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee to focus on women and girls who desire to create a better quality of life for themselves and/or their families, to achieve self-sufficiency, and to increase their financial strength. The YWCA will also be a spokesperson for those women who have no voice. Further, we will raise the awareness and diminish the incidence of violence and racism.
